Weather affects sporting events around the Bi-City area

Athletics contests in the Bi-City area were once again impacted by rain that entered the area Friday morning.

Soccer and baseball games, including a big doubleheader at Northside, were rescheduled for a later time.

Columbus High baseball, which was set to host Troup, will play at 4:30 p.m. Saturday at home, and Jordan baseball contest at Bowdon was rescheduled for April 16.

A big doubleheader in baseball between Region 1-AAAAA rivals Hardaway and Northside, which are tied for the region lead at 5-1, was pushed back to Saturday. Game 1 will begin at 4 p.m. at Northside with Game 2 to follow shortly after the completion of the opener.

Thomas County Central at Harris County baseball was pushed back to April 25.

The Woodruff Soccer Complex was closed for Friday and Saturday, canceling four games. Dooly County at Pacelli boys, Carver-Jordan boys and girls and Grady-Columbus girls were all canceled.
