Their storybook romance just took the next step.

Columbus' own Katherine Webb and former University of Alabama quarterback AJ McCarron are engaged, according to posts on her Twitter page.

The two fought off breakup rumors last September, but Webb's publicist said the couple was "totally fine."

Webb was raised in the Columbus-Phenix City area and graduated from Auburn University. She entered the national spotlight when she watched her boyfriend play for the University of Alabama in the Jan. 7 BCS National Championship. During the game, ESPN’s camera turned to Webb and sportscaster Brent Musburger gave some remarks admiring her beauty.

Since then, she gained a deluge of Twitter followers, appeared in the 2013 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue and covered the Super Bowl for "Inside Edition." She also competed on "Splash," a celebrity diving competition.

Webb first confirmed her relationship with McCarron to the Ledger-Enquirer in late December 2012.

In case you need a reminder, (and who doesn't love watching this clip?) here's the, umm, awkward video from that now infamous day.
