Kovalev defends title with KO of Agnew

Atlantic City, NJ (SportsNetwork.com) - Sergey Kovalev retained his WBO light heavyweight title with a seventh-round knockout of previously unbeaten Cedric Agnew on Saturday night.

Kovalev (24-0-1), making his second defense, ended the bout by dropping Agnew with a body shot. The Russian's previous six opponents hadn't escaped the fourth round.

Agnew (26-1) was sent to the canvas in the second and again in the sixth.
