Georgia falls to Texas A&M 9-5, still wins series

ATHENS, Ga. -- The Georgia Bulldogs fell to Texas A&M 9-5 Sunday. The Bulldogs won the three-game series 2-1 despite the loss.

Georgia scored one run each in the first, second and third innings thanks to an RBI by Nelson Ward and Stephen Wrenn and Conor Welton reaching home on errors.

Texas A&M put three runs on the board in the third and one in the fifth, but the Bulldogs tied the game at 4-4 in the fifth on an RBI single by Wrenn.

Wrenn picked up one more RBI in the seventh on a fielder's choice, but Texas A&M scored five runs late to take the win.

Georgia (16-12-1, 3-5-1) will begin a three-game series at Missouri Friday at 7 p.m.
