Police seek man accused of feticide

Police are seeking the public's assistance in locating a 31-year-old man accused of punching his pregnant wife in the stomach, causing her to miscarry, according to Columbus Police reports.

Witnesses told police that Elvi Morales punched the 45-year-old woman the night of March 21 in their master bedroom at a 5200 block Cochran Avenue home. Four children, aged between 1 year old and 14 years old, were present during the altercation.

The victim called police after she began experiencing abdominal pain. She was less than 12 weeks pregnant.

Morales was not present on the scene when police and EMS workers arrived. The victim was taken to St. Francis Hospital, where she was listed as in fair condition.

Morales has been described as a 5-foot-5 Hispanic man who weighs about 160 pounds. He was last seen wearing a white shirt and white cargo shorts with blue stripes. He is wanted for feticide, family violence battery and four counts of cruelty to children in the third degree.
