A 14-year-old girl led a stalker suspect away from her home after she noticed him following her from the Cricket store on Buena Vista Road, according to a Columbus Police report.

The teen told police she went to the 3360 Buena Vista Road store on Wednesday to resolve an issue with her phone at about 4:50 p.m. While inside the store, she noticed a man who followed her in drop a dollar. When another customer tried to return the dollar, the man refused and said it belonged to the teen.

She noticed the man following her in a champagne colored Mercury Grand Marquis almost immediately after she left the store. Thinking quickly, she turned down a street away from her house and pretended to be home at an unspecified address.

When she doubled back for help at the Cricket store, however, the man found her again. He followed her into the store a second time and offered another dollar.

The suspect was not described in the report. Anyone with more information should contact Investigative Services at (706) 653-3400.
