Ex-Russell County stars Castillo and Webb help Alabama to 6-4 win over Texas A&M


COLLEGE STATION, Texas -- Chance Vincent and Mikey White each drove in two runs to lead Alabama to a 6-4 win over Texas A&M and a split of their Saturday doubleheader.

Former Russell County stars made an impact in Game 2. Hunter Webb went 2-for-4. Ray Castillo (1-0) pitched 2 2-3 innings of scoreless relief and picked up the win.

In Game 1, Wade Wass homered and drove in three runs for the Tide, but Texas A&M (19-14, 5-7 SEC) outslugged Alabama 13-8.

Jay Shaw (1-2) allowed four runs on two hits and took the loss in relief of start Justin Kamplain.

Parker Ray (3-2) allowed four runs on five hits and picked up the win.

Alabama (22-9, 8-4 SEC) hosts Alabama-Birmingham Tuesday at 7:05 p.m.
