Auburn drops doubleheader to Ole Miss

OXFORD, Miss. -- Ole Miss scored five runs in the bottom of the sixth inning of Game 2 and defeated Auburn 5-1 to sweep the twin bill Saturday and the weekend series.

Former Pacelli and CVCC star Michael O'Neal (2-3) gave up five runs on five hits and took the loss.

In Game 1, Ole Miss handed freshman Keegan Thompson (5-1) his first loss of the season, defeating the Tigers 6-0.

Auburn managed only five hits.

Christian Trent (5-0) threw a complete game shutout and struck out seven to pick up the win.

In Friday night's game at Swayze Field, Ole Miss (25-8, 7-5 SEC) got a home run in the bottom of the 13th inning to defeat the Tigers 8-5.

Auburn (19-14, 5-7 SEC) hosts Troy Tuesday at 7 p.m.
