CSU men's golf tied for 4th at tournament


JACKSONVILLE, Ala. -- The No. 13 Columbus State men's golf team shot a first-round score of 299, 11 over par, on Monday in the Grub Mart Intercollegiate tournament. The Cougars were tied for fourth after the first round.

The event was shortened from 54 holes to just two rounds due to rain.

Cates Culpepper shot a one-over 73 (tied for 12th), Jack Stumpfig shot a 74 (tied for 17th), Bryan Lichimo is tied for 24th after totaling a 75 and James Clayton shot a 77, putting him tied for 31st.

Columbus State will begin the final round of the tournament Tuesday at 8:30 a.m.
