Lady Cougars come in 9th at women's invitational


CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- The Columbus State Lady Cougars' golf team came in ninth place out of 10 teams with a team score of 333 at the United States Women's Invitational at Pine Island Country Club.

The tournament was shortened to one round after rain prevented play Monday.

Courtney Lowery shot a five-over 77, good enough to tie for ninth place individually.

Steph Charteris shot a 78 (14th), Jodi Henley shot a 86 (39th) and Ciera Bagley shot a 92 (46th).

Columbus State will play in the Peach Belt Conference championship April 18 and 19 at Callaway Gardens in Pine Mountain, Ga.
