Hunter Cole hits homer as Dogs beat Clemson

CLEMSON, S.C. — Georgia scored four times in the second inning en route to a 6-2 victory over Clemson on Tuesday night at Doug Kingsmore Stadium.

Hunter Cole led the Dogs, going 3-for-5 with four RBIs and two runs scored.

Nelson Ward had a pair of hits and two RBIs.

Cole gave the Dogs a 1-0 lead in the top of the first with a homer to left center field.

Cole and Ward drove in two runs apiece in the second.

Patrick Boling (3-2) picked up the win. He went 7 2-3 innings and gave up two runs (one earned) on five hits and three walks. He struck out six.

Steve Duggar led the Tigers with a pair of hits.

Georgia (19-13-1) hosts Tennessee at 7:30 p.m. Thursday for the start of an SEC series.
