Vols pitchers shutdown Bulldogs in 5-3 win

ATHENS, Ga. -- Tennessee scored five runs in the third inning and the Vols' bullpen preserved the 5-3 win Thursday night by allowing only one hit in the last four innings.

Jared Cheek (5-4) gave up five runs on 10 hits and took the loss.

Nick Williams (4-3) allowed three runs on four hits and picked up the win.

Georgia was limited to five hits and nobody had more than one hit.

Georgia (19-14, 5-7-1 SEC) hosts Tennessee (23-9, 6-7) today at 7 p.m. and Saturday at 4 p.m.
