Ortman, Thompson shut down Alabama 2-1

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. -- Dillon Ortman spread five hits over seven innings to lead Auburn to 2-1 win over Alabama.

Ortman (6-2) struck out two and walked none to picked up the win.

Freshman Keegan Thompson picked up his first save of the season.

Spencer Turnbull (4-2) allowed two runs on just four hits in seven innings and took the loss.

Connor Short and Jordan Ebert drove in runs in the second inning to lead the Tigers' offense.

Chance Vincent singled in Alabama's only run in the fourth inning.

Alabama (22-11, 8-5 SEC) and Auburn (21-14, 6-7) play Saturday at 7:05 p.m. and Sunday at 2:05 p.m.
