Leurer becomes FCCLA Club President

John Michael Leuer, a junior at Northside High School, is the 2014-2015 Georgia Family Career and Community Leader of America State President. John will lead more than 35,000 Georgia FCCLA members over the next year. He will preside over meetings of the State Executive Council and State meeting, appoint committees and serve as an ex-officio member, represent FCCLA and make presentations at meetings and special functions as requested by the State Adviser.

Kelly Tran, a third grader at Hannan Elementary Magnet Academy, was selected from more than 14,000 entries as a Scholastic Reading Club Star Reader. Kelly appeared in the national February issue of the Third Graders flyer. As of March 27, Kelly has read 81 books totaling 3,651,327 words.

Seychelle Hercules, an 11th grader at Hardaway High, was presented with the Tri-DVS Youth Volunteer Service Award. She was honored for her work with United Way of the Chattahoochee Valley. Seychelle serves on the United Way Live United Youth Council and also serves as the Girls Inc. representative for the annual fundraising campaign. She is an International Baccalaureate who is active in many school and community activities.
