Harris County Sheriff's deputies seize $70,000 in stolen property

The Harris County Sheriff’s Office has recovered about $70,000 in stolen property and arrested a Lanett, Ala., suspect in connection with the thefts of utility trailers and other construction equipment from the Chattahoochee Valley.

In a release, authorities said the suspect was arrested at a residence in Lanett, Ala.

At the home, deputies found a car trailer, a Bobcat and another trailer stolen from Columbus several weeks ago.

Investigators said the arrest is the result of an extensive investigation. Authorities will be contacting victims on Monday from Muscogee, Troup and Harris counties to retrieve their stolen property.

Sheriff Mike Jolley wasn’t available for comment on details of the arrest.
