Earnest, Stanton lead Yellow Jackets past Florida State 12-4

ATLANTA -- A couple of big innings was all Georgia Tech needed to put away Florida State Saturday as the Yellow Jackets defeated the Seminoles 12-4.

Georgia Tech scored four runs in the fourth and six runs in the fifth to put the game out of reach, including a three-run home run by Mitch Earnest.

Keenan Innis hit an RBI single, Daniel Spingola hit an RBI triple and later scored on a throwing error in the fourth to put Tech up 5-0. Then in the fifth Earnest hit his home run, Brandon Gold hit a two-RBI double and Mott Hyde and A.J. Murray hit RBI singles.

Devin Stanton went six innings and gave up no runs on five hits with five strikeouts and one walk.

Georgia Tech (23-13, 10-7 ACC) will close out the three-game series with Florida State Sunday starting at 1 p.m.
