MONTGOMERY, Ala. -- Emily Robertson put Glenwood ahead just before halftime and the Lady Gators played solid defense in the second half Saturday to defeat Macon-East 3-2 and repeat as AISA champions.
The teams traded goals twice in the first half. Barbara Cox scored first for Macon-East on a penalty kick. Glenwood's Whitley Anderson tied the game about four minutes later.
Carson Collins then put Glenwood up 2-1 before Cox scored again to tie the match at 2-2.
As the first half was coming to close, Robertson got free to score and make it 3-2 at the half.
The Lady Gators defense made the lead hold up.
Four Glenwood players made the Alabama Independent School Association All-Tournament team.
They are sophomores Whitley Anderson, Jenna Wilson and Teri Hodge.
The other was senior Emily Robertson, who was named the tournament's most valuable player.

The Eagles scored in the top of the seventh as Little walked a pair of batters, then hit a batter with the bases loaded.
Guy Peek drove in a pair of runs for the Cougars.
