A Columbus woman told police she was sitting in a gazebo in the area of Front Avenue and 6th street downtown when she was robbed at gunpoint.

According to the Columbus police report, the incident happened around 10:50 p.m. Saturday.

The 46-year-old woman said she was sitting in the gazebo when she was approached by two black males. One was described as being around 40 years old and wearing a red shirt with blue jean shorts. The other was described as wearing a dark jacket and pants with a white and black hat. He had a gold grill in his mouth.

The woman said the man in the hat had a black semi-automatic pistol with a laser sight.

The suspect threatened to shoot the woman if she moved and did not give up her purse.

After she gave them the purse, the two fled.

The victim said her 2013 Chevrolet Camaro valued at $33,000 was taken.

Later, police received calls from citizens that the purse had been found in Heritage Park at Broadway and 7th Street.

The caller said a black male in a red shirt was seen going through the purse.
