Lady Cougars defeat UNC Pembroke 5-1 in regular season finale


PEMBROKE, N.C. - The No. 6 Columbus State Lady Cougars tennis team defeated UNC Pembroke 5-1 in CSU's final matches of the regular season.

The Lady Cougars (17-4, 12-1 PBC) will enter the Peach Belt Conference tournament as a No. 2 seed. The tournament will begin Thursday in Florence, S.C.

No. 1: #2 Paola Cigui (CSU) def. Leigh-Anne McAfee (UNCP) - 6-2, 6-1; No. 2: #14 Beatriz Leon (CSU) def. Shelby Bickel (UNCP) - 6-1, 6-0; No. 3: Camila Tobar (CSU) vs. Hannah Herlocker (UNCP) - 6-3, 4-1, unfinished; No. 4: Laura Chapman (CSU) vs. Gabriela van Ooststroom (UNCP) - 6-2, 3-0, unfinished; No. 5: Elena Preadca (CSU) vs. Madeline DiNunzio (UNCP) - 6-0, 3-0, unfinished; No. 6: Monica Espitia (UNCP) won by forfeit.

Doubles results
