High school roundup: Calvary Christian clinches region title

Calvary Christian clinched its first GICAA region championship in school history with a 23-17 win over The Campus. Trent Burns went 4-for-6 with four RBIs and three doubles for Calvary Christian.

Casey Cobb went 2-for-4 with three RBIS and Hunter Morgan went 1-for-2 with two RBIs for Harris County in the shutout win.

LAGRANGE, Ga. -- Troup County scored twice in the first and fifth innings to defeat Columbus. Russell Forthofer drove in the only Columbus run in the first inning. Jacob Pate allowed four runs on five hits and took the loss.

SEVERAL GAMES RAINED OUT

The rain and cold Tuesday affected the high school baseball schedule in the Bi-City area.

The Brookstone at Central doubleheader, which had already been postponed from Monday to Tuesday, was canceled.

The Shaw vs. Carrollton game was rescheduled for today at 4:30 p.m. at Shaw.

The Spencer at Jordan game was postponed until Thursday. Jordan will also play today at Bowdon in a game that was rained out earlier this season.
