Columbus State's Robert Mize named All-Peach Belt Conference first team


PINE MOUNTAIN, Ga. -- Columbus State golfer Robert Mize was named to the All-Peach Belt Conference first team at a banquet Thursday night.

Mize had two teammates, Bryan Lichimo and Jack Stumpfig, make the second team.

Mize won a pair of tournaments during the fall part of the 2013-14 season -- the Aflac/Cougar Invitational at the Copuntry Club of Columbus and the TVA Credit Union Invitational in Killen, Ala.

He has also had a pair of second-place finishes. The sophomore finished sixth in the conference with a stroke average of 72.6.

This was ths second straight year Lichimo made the second team. He had four top-20 finishes and ended the regular season with a 74.7 average.

Stumpfig finished as the runner-up at the Bearcat Golf Classic in Ninety-Six, S.C., last month. He finished with a 74.0 average.

No one from the CSU women's team was selected to the all-conference team.

The PBC tournaments, which are being played at Callaway Gardens, were postponed Friday due to rain. They have been reduced to 18 holes and will start at 8:30 a.m. Saturday.
