Kia employees take part in Great American Cleanup

April 19, 2014

Employees of Kia Motors Manufacturing Georgia in West Point, Ga., recently participated in the 2014 Great American Cleanup as volunteers with the community service organization, Keep Troup Beautiful.

During the April 5 event, the Kia staffers picked up 20 large bags of trash and mulched trees in the West Point shopping district. This is the third year Kia employees have participated in the annual community improvement program.

"At KMMG, we are extremely proud to be a part of this community and take the responsibility that comes with community service to heart," said Hyun Jong Shin, executive vice president and chief executive officer of the local Kia operation. "We are also proud of the outstanding efforts displayed by our team members during the Great American Cleanup, serving both the city and its citizens."

Last year, in addition to helping with the cleanup, they collected 800 pounds of clothing, which was donated to a nonprofit organization.
