CSU's Bradford takes 2nd in shot put, Fite takes 4th in javelin throw at PBC championships


ROME, Ga. -- The Columbus State men's and women's track teams completed competition at the Peach Belt Conference championships Saturday.

Chatil Bradford took second in the shot put with a throw of 41 feet 8.75 inches. It was the best individual finish of any CSU athlete.

Travis Fite finished fourth in the javelin throw with a mark of 145 feet 6 inches.

The women's 4x400-meter relay team (Shanila Chapman, Renee Usher, Rachel Dixon, Ju'el Beasley) came in fourth with a school-record time of 3:59.53.

Usher came in third in the 800 meters (2:17.07) and fourth in the 1,500 meters (4:44.27).

Moneque English placed sixth in the 5,000 meters (18:26.81), and Jaccob Mobbs came in fifth (15:29.18) on the men's side.

Columbus State will compete at the Coach "O" Invitational hosted by Troy University Saturday.
