Gators roll past Bulldogs 10-3 to complete sweep

GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- The No. 9 Florida Gators completed a three-game sweep over the Georgia Bulldogs Sunday with a 10-3 win.

Nelson Ward hit an RBI single for the Bulldogs in the top of the first, but Florida would take a 3-1 advantage in the bottom of the inning and never relinquish the lead.

Florida scored four more runs in the second before Ward hit another RBI single, this time in the top of the fifth.

The Gators put two more insurance runs on the board in the bottom of the inning.

Georgia's last run of the game came on an RBI single by Mike Bell in the top of the seventh, but Florida matched that with a run of its own in the bottom of the inning.

Despite the scoreline the Bulldogs led the Gators 14-10 in hits but could not add enough runs to the board.

Patrick Boling (3-4) absorbed the loss for Georgia. He pitched one inning and gave up four runs on three hits with one strikeout and three walks.

The Bulldogs (21-18-1, 7-10-1 SEC) will play at Kennesaw State Tuesday at 7 p.m.
