The Chattahoochee Valley Community College Pirates defeated Central Alabama 5-4 in a game that featured 14 innings and a one hour rain delay Tuesday.
Central Alabama jumped out to a 2-0 lead, but CVCC scored three runs in the bottom of the fifth to take a one run advantage.
Central Alabama scored a single run in the eighth to knot the game at 3-3, and this scoreline would remain until the top of the 14th.
Central Alabama went ahead 4-3, but a an RBI double by Cam Sperry in the bottom of the inning once again tied the game. Tyler Lynn then hit a walk-off RBI single to give the Pirates the win.
Reliever Chris Brown (2-2) picked up the win. He threw for four innings and gave up on unearned run on four hits with three strikeouts.
Sperry went 3-for-5 with three RBIs and Lynn went 3-for-6 with an RBI.
CVCC (37-8, 17-3 ACCC) remains at the No. 1 spot in the latest NJCAA poll.
The Pirates will play at Wallace State-Selma Friday at 2 p.m.
