The Lee County Sheriffs Office has seized $25,000 in stolen televisions, guns and other items from an Opelika, Ala., home and linked three suspects to burglaries in Georgia and Alabama.
Tevin Jamaal Stinson, 20, of Opelika was arrested Monday and charged with four counts of third-degree burglary and three counts of third-degree theft of property. He is held in the Lee County Jail on $22,000 bond.
Joseph Brian Kelly, 20, of Chambers County is charged by the Troup County Sheriffs Office and held on $40,000 bond. Craig Lavone Stinson, 21, of Auburn is held in the Lee County Detention Facility without bond for other burglaries.
The arrests stem from a three-month investigation by Lee County, the Auburn Police Department, the Opelika Police Department, the Chambers County Sheriffs Office and the Troup County Sheriffs Office. On April 8, Lee County and Troup County authorities searched the home of Stinson on Bull Durham Street in Opelika and found items that have been reported stolen during multiple burglaries in two states.
Kelly and Stinson also are linked to the rash of burglaries.
More arrests are possible as the investigation continues.
