Alabama loses second straight to Southern Miss


TUSCALOOSA, Ala. -- Southern Miss finished a sweep of the two-game season series over Alabama with a 6-3 victory at Thomas-Sewell Field on Tuesday night.

Mason Robbins hit a homer and two run-scoring singles for the Eagles (25-7).

Alabama (28-13) lost for the second straight game. The Tide also lost Sunday's series finale at Tennessee.

Ben Moore went 3-for-5 with a triple and a RBI for the Tide. Hunter Webb (Russell County) was 0-for-1 as a pinch-hitter.

Jay Shaw (Russell County) gave up 1 run on one hit in 1 2-3 innings of relief. Ray Castillo (Russell County) followed him to the mound and gave up two runs in one-third of an inning.
