The Grillathon: Jan Greeff attempts to set Guinness World Record for barbecue marathon

Jan Greeff fired up the grill Thursday morning at 7am in an attempt to set a new Guinness World Record for the longest barbecue marathon by an individual. His attempt, dubbed The Grillathon benefits the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and is open to the public. The current record is 62 hours and six minutes. The Grillathon is in Uptown Columbus in the Broadway median near 11th Street. If all goes according to plan, Greeff said he hopes to surpass the record Saturday evening and continue grilling into Sunday.
