Adair Avenue shooting victim declared dead

A Columbus man who was seriously injured by gunfire on Adair Avenue Thursday afternoon died today at Midtown Medical Center, authorities said. Corey Owens, 29, was pronounced dead at 12:55 p.m. in the intensive care unit of the hospital, said Muscogee County Coroner Buddy Bryan. He died of a gunshot wound to the head. Owens was shot in the head after a gunman fired shots at the white SUV he was driving on Adair Avenue at Wynnton Road.
