A Fort Mitchell, Ala., teen is in custody and a second suspect sought in connection with the death of Eric Tunnell Anderson at his Seale, Ala., mobile home, authorities said Friday.

Anthony Lavell Carter, 18, was arrested about 1 a.m. Friday, said Russell County Sheriff Heath Taylor said. Carter is held in the Russell County Jail on one count of murder in the death of Anderson whose body was found Tuesday at his 150 Avalon Circle home.

Taylor identified Jeramiah Levi Sokolgz, 24, as a suspect in the death on Thursday but he is still being sought.

During a search, Taylor said items missing from Anderson’s mobile home have been recovered. The missing items included a plasma television, an X-Box, a Wii machine, speakers, video games and a PC gaming computer.

During an interview with investigators, Carter admitted being at the home for a burglary.

“He is sticking to the story that he took part in the burglary of the house, not the killing of the person,” the sheriff said.

The suspect has told authorities that he didn’t enter the home. “He claims he didn’t go in,” Taylor said. “We don’t know that we can prove any different right now. We can prove he was in possession of the property.”
