Columbus' Jason Fober and Cason Hammock tied for Georgia Four-Ball lead


CARTERSVILLE, Ga. -- Columbus' Jason Fober and Cason Hammock teamed up to shoot a 10-under 62 Friday to share the lead after the first round of the Georgia Four-Ball Championship.

They are tied with Chad Branton of Cartersville and Justin Johnson of Canton.

The tournament is being played at the Cartersville Country Club. The 54-hole event is scheduled to conclude on Sunday.

Fober and Hammock, who teamed to win the Four-Ball in 2011 at Green Island, had two eagles, seven birdies and one bogey.

Danny Nelson of Savannah and Buster Bruton of Dallas are tied with Cres Dodd of Calhoun and Greg Johnson of Cartersville for third at 65.

Nelson and Jack Hall of Sea Island won the Four-Ball last year.

Columbus' Bobby Brent III and Bubba Gallops shot a 69 and are tied for 16th.

Carter Mize and Wright Waddell, who won this event four times, are tied for 37th after a 72. Mize was elected to the Georgia Golf Hall of Fame on Thursday.

Columbus' Rhoades Sturkie and Marietta's Christopher Koehler are tied for 59th after a 76.
