North Carolina State edges Georgia Tech 1-0 to tie series

RALEIGH, N.C. -- Georgia Tech starting pitcher Devin Stanton (3-3) pitched six innings and gave up one run on five hits with four strikeouts. Unfortunately for the Yellow Jackets, that one run was all North Carolina State needed to pick up a 1-0 win and even a three game series at 1-1.

Georgia Tech picked up eight hits on three different pitchers for the Wolfpack but could not score a run.

The teams stayed deadlocked until the bottom of the seventh when a solo home run over the center field wall gave N.C. State enough for the win.

Mott Hyde and Daniel Spingola both went 2-for-5 for Georgia Tech.

Georgia Tech (26-18, 12-11 ACC) will play the final game in the series against the Wolfpack Sunday at 1 p.m. in Raleigh.
