Auburn splits with Arkansas

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. -- The Auburn Tigers fell to Arkansas 4-3 Saturday in 10 innings in the first game of a doubleheader but rebounded for a 7-2 win in the nightcap.

In Game 1 the two teams were knotted at 3-3 at the end of regulation, but an RBI single in the bottom of the 10th gave the Razorbacks the win.

Arkansas took a 2-0 lead into the fourth before the Tigers made their way onto the scoreboard. Blake Logan hit an RBI single that brought in Damek Tomscha.

This scoreline remained until the top of the sixth when Jordan Ebert scored on a throwing error followed by a sacrifice fly for an RBI.

Auburn maintained the 3-2 lead until the bottom of the eighth when the Razorbacks tied the game at 3-3 with an RBI single.

Logan went 2-for-4 with an RBI for Auburn. Terrance Dedrick absorbed the loss. He pitched 1 2-3 innings and gave up one run on four hits with a strikeout and two walks.

Starting pitcher Keegan Thompson threw for seven innings and gave up two runs on seven hits with six strikeouts and two walks.
