Marrakech, Morocco ( - Maria-Teresa Torro-Flor of Spain outlasted Switzerland's Romina Oprandi in three sets for the title at the Marrakech Grand Prix.

Torro-Flor earned a 6-3, 3-6, 6-3 victory in Sunday's final for her first WTA singles crown.

Both players were appearing in their first final.

Torro-Flor broke serve for a 5-3 lead in the first set and held to win it, then had her serve broken at 2-1 in the second set and Oprandi held the rest of the way to force a third. Torro-Flor then built a 5-1 cushion in the third before stumbling a bit over the next two games and finally closing out the match.

The 21-year-old Torro-Flor had just two main-draw match wins in four events this year prior to this week's title run. Her best previous finish in a WTA event was a semifinal appearance in Tashkent last year.

Oprandi had knocked off top-seeded Daniela Hantuchova in the semifinals to reach her first final. She previously lost in semifinals at Brussels and Portugal last year, in addition to semifinal losses in 2010 at Palermo and 2011 at Den Bosch.
