Columbus State men's golf team receives NCAA bid

The Columbus State men's golf team received a bid Tuesday to play in the NCAA South/Southeast Regional Tournament.

The tournament will be played at the Savannah Quarters Country Club in Savannah, Ga., May 5-7.

The 14th-ranked Cougars have made the NCAA tournament each year since becoming a NCAA sanctioned school.

CSU will be one of six Peach Belt Conference teams in the Southeast field. The others are USC Aiken, Armstrong Atlantic, Flagler, Georgia College and Clayton State.

USC Aiken won the Peach Belt title at Callaway Gardens last month. CSU finished tied for seventh.

There will be eight teams in the South regional field.

The top seven teams from the combined regions will advance to the NCAA tournament, which will be May 19-23 at the Meadows Golf Course in Allendale, Mich.
