ROME, Ga. Running backs coach Tim Horton had an update on the Peyton Barber's condition Monday night in Rome, Ga.
The coach revealed that Barber suffered a high ankle sprain on his first carry of the A-Day game. It was an injury that forced the redshirt freshman out for the remainder of the contest. The sprain was serious enough that even if it had occurred during a regular season game, Horton said Barber wouldn't play.
Even though he should be back to 100 percent in three weeks or so, the injury was the last thing Horton wanted to see.
"We wish he hadnt gotten hurt in that spring game, because we were really fixing to stress him, to be honest," he said. "But thankfully, hes going to be fine."
