A 17-year-old Kendrick High School student reported his cell phone stolen Monday after another student snatched it near a stairwell, according to a Columbus Police report.

The student told officers he was walking down the stairs and using his Samsung Galaxy phone when the suspect ran by and grabbed it at about 3:20 p.m.

A review of surveillance footage showed a suspect matching the victim's description. However, the tape did not show the suspect grabbing the victim's phone or running away, according to the report.

The suspect's description was not disclosed in the report.
