Calhoun ousts Jordan from Class AA baseball tournament

CALHOUN, Ga. -- Calhoun had quality pitching and a blistering offense to sweep Jordan in the first round of the Class AA state tournament.

In Game 1, Jordan could manage just two singles, one each from Austin Baker and Chance McKinnon, off of the Yellow Jackets pitchers in a 10-0 win shortened by the mercy rule.

John Alan Kendrick picked up the win and Baker was tagged with the loss.

In Game 2, Calhoun struck for six runs in the third and 10 runs in the fifth for a 16-1 win in a game shortened by the mercy rule.

C.J. White was 2-for-2 and drove in the only run of the day for the Red Jackets.

Calob Broadwell took the loss for Jordan.Friday at Calhoun, Ga.
