Report: Officer injured after responding to call about naked man with hammer

A Columbus police officer was injured after responding to a report of a naked man threatening people with a hammer.

Arrested and charged with aggravated assault on a police officer was 45-year-old Samuel Slaughter of 6663 Benson Drive in Columbus.

According to the police report, the incident occurred at 7:27 p.m. on Benson Drive.

The officer was struck in the mouth. He was not seriously hurt.
