Florida finishes sweep of Alabama

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. -- Florida built an early five-run lead and went to beat Alabama 13-3 on Sunday at at Sewell-Thomas Stadium.

The victory gave Florida (33-15, 18-6 SEC) a sweep of the Tide (30-18, 13-11).

The Gators scored one run in the second and four more in the third.

Jon Keller (5-2) took the loss for the Tide. He gave up six runs on six hits and four walks in 4 1-3 innings.

Wade Wass, Kyle Overstreet and Casey Hughston got two hits apiece to lead the Tide at the plate. Hunter Webb (Russell County_ went 1-for-4. Jay Shaw (Russell County) pitched one inning in relief and allowed one run.

Peter Alonso drove in four runs for the Gators.

Alabama hosts Jacksonville State on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
