Police say a suspect unsuccessfully attempted to rob two men, including a Ledger-Enquirer newspaper carrier, on Rosemont Drive Sunday morning, according to Columbus Police reports.

At 6:25 a.m., officers reported that a 38-year-old man was left with bloody lips after a suspect beat him with a pistol during a 4400 block robbery.

Fifteen minutes later, police were stopped by a 60-year-old newspaper carrier, who said a suspect attempted to carjack him near the 4300 block, according to a report and witness testimony. He was able to speed off in his Ford Ranger before the suspect could reach the vehicle.

Police are questioning those victims about their experiences after a man was critically injured during a Monday morning shooting on Rosemont Drive.

A sufficient description of Sunday's suspect was not available. Anyone with more information should call Investigative Services at 706-653-3400.
