JASON VORHEES/THE TELEGRAPH Macon, GA, 09/07/2013: Valdosta State running back Michael Bellamy (7) is tackled in the backfield by Fort Valley State linebacker DeRon Furr (17) during their game Saturday.

Three former Chattahoochee Valley high school football players could realize their lifelong dreams this week as the National Football League begins its three-day draft Thursday.

Each one of the 32 teams in the NFL gets a pick in each of the seven rounds. The first round is at 8 p.m. on ESPN. Rounds 2 and 3 will be Friday at 7 p.m. on ESPN. Rounds 4-7 will be Saturday at noon on ESPN.

Marcus Smith (Hardaway) is likely to be the first one of the three selected. Smith, who played quarterback for the Hawks, switched to defensive end when he went to Louisville. He is projected to go in the third or fourth round.

Isaiah Crowell (Carver) transferred to Alabama State for his final two seasons after being kicked off Georgia’s team. The running back decided to skip his senior year to enter the draft. He is projected to go in the sixth or seventh round.

His former Carver teammate, DeRon Furr, signed with Auburn before transferring first to Memphis then Fort Valley State. The strong safety is projected to go in the seventh round.
