Whitewater uses a pair of unearned runs to eliminate Hardaway

FAYETTEVILLE, Ga. -- Whitewater scored two unearned runs to beat Hardaway 2-1 in Game 3 of their Class AAAAA second-round series.

After Whitewater scored a run in the first, Hardaway, which manahed just five hits in the game, trailed until the top of the sixth inning.

Trent Abrams doubled to center field to lead off. After an out, Josh Anthony was intentionally walked. Blake Meadows hit a sharp grounder that the shortstop bobbled. Once he regained control of the ball, he still tried to get Anthony out at second. Abrams scored on the play.

Whitewater took back the lead in the bottom of the sixth. Brandon Bell reached on an error. Bell went to third on Nick Fuerstenau's single. He scored on Caleb Noreton's sacrifice fly.

Bryan Pate was the tough-luck loser. He allowed just two unearned runs and five hits in six innings.Thursday at Whitewater
