Virginia rallies to defeat Georgia Tech 4-3


CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA. -- Virginia scored to two runs in the bottom of the seventh inning Friday night for a 4-3 come-from-behind win over Georgia Tech.

Austin Young (1-0) worked 1-1-3 innings of hitless relief and picked up the win. Nick Howard recorded his 16th save of the season.

Josh Heddinger (3-3) gave up four runs on six hits and took the loss.

Tech was led Daniel Spingola and Connor Justus, who each had two hits.

Joe McCarthy went 3-for-4 to lead the Cavaliers.

Virgina (36-9, 19-6 ACC) hosts Georgia Tech (29-21, 14-14) for noon game both Saturday and Sunday.
