Man robbed and car hijacked on Steam Mill Road

A 21-year-old man was robbed and his car hijacked at gunpoint late Friday on Steam Mill Road, Columbus police said.

The victim wasn’t injured in the 8:35 p.m. robbery and theft of his 2009 Chevy Impala at the Food Mart, 4451 Steam Mill Road.

Police said a heavy set man pointed a gun at the victim, took $100 in cash and his vehicle valued at $15,500. The vehicle was recovered about 15 minutes after the robbery.

Police are still looking for the gunman who was described as black, about 20 years old, dark skinned and heavy set with a low haircut. He wore red ball cap and red T-shirt.
