Butcher knife used to steal cell phone

A Columbus man told police that his former girlfriend pressed a butcher knife to his ribs and stole his cell phone.

According to the police report, the incident happened Saturday at 1:58 p.m. on Macon Road.

The man told police the woman took the cell phone and jumped out of the victim's car.

Police found the woman sitting on some stairs on Boxwood Blvd. She was then brought back to a location on Macon Road where the identification was made.

The woman surrendered the knife and cell phone.

At first, the victim asked police, "why is she not in handcuffs?" but as she was being arrested, the victim changed his mind about the arrest.

The case is still under investigation.
