Police charge suspect in test-drive kidnapping

Dejonquavius Shalontez Shine has been charged in the test-drive kidnapping of a Victory Drive Carl Gregory employee, Columbus police said today.

On April 26, at the 2201 Victory Drive dealership, a 2014 Dodge Charger was hijacked from an employee during a test drive.

The employee with the perpetrator posing as a customer was met by three more men, and at gunpoint forced into the back seat.

Blindfolded, the worker was driven around Columbus until dropped off on Chattsworth Road.

After a police pursuit and officer-involved shooting, the 2014 Dodge Charger was recovered in Douglas County.

Shine is in the Douglas County jail.
