Fire investigators searching for Victory Drive arson suspects

Columbus Fire & Emergency Medical Services investigators are looking into a potential arson after two Victory Drive mobile homes were set ablaze Friday morning, officials said.

Firefighters responded to 3170 Victory Drive shortly after 4 a.m., where they found both buildings engulfed. Investigators later estimated damages at $20,000.

The mobile homes were located directly behind Springfield Crossing apartments. Fire Marshal Ricky Shores said those buildings were never in danger of catching fire, however.

Investigators say a brown or gold Dodge Neon with body damage to the driver's side was seen speeding away from the incident. It is unclear whether the vehicle is connected to the incident.

Anyone with more information should contact the Fire Prevention Department at (706) 653-3520.
