Colts sign second-round pick Mewhort

Indianapolis, IN (SportsNetwork.com) - The Colts signed their 2014 second- round pick, guard Jack Mewhort, on Friday.

The Ohio State product played in 49 games with the Buckeyes, making 39 consecutive starts to close his collegiate career. Mewhort showed his versatility by lining up at left tackle for a combined 26 starts as a junior and senior before previously working at guard.

Mewhort was named a First Team All-Big Ten Conference choice and was a candidate for the Outland Trophy as a senior.

Mewhort was Indianapolis' first selection in last week's draft, as the Colts traded their first-round choice to Cleveland last September to obtain running back Trent Richardson.
