Former Russell County star Anfernee Grier homers in Auburn's 8-1 loss to LSU

AUBURN, Ala. -- Kade Scivicque went 3-for-4, homered and drove in two runs Satruday to lead No. 8 LSU to a 8-1 win over Auburn and a sweep of the three-game series.

Anfernee Grier (Russell County) led off the bottom of the first with a home run to left center to put Auburn up 1-0. Grier went 2-for-5 with an RBI.

LSU, leading 3-1, scored five runs in the top of the seventh inning to put the game away.

Dan Glevenyak went 3-for-4 for Auburn (28-28, 10-20 SEC).

Dillon Ortman (9-5) gave up three runs on seven hits over four innings and took the loss,

Kyle Bouman (4-2) allowed one run on four hits over five innings and got the win for LSU (40-14-1, 17-11-1).

Tennessee and Georgia both won on Saturday, thereby clinching the final two berths in next week's Southeastern Conference baseball tournament at Hoover, Ala.

Tennessee beat Florida 7-5 on Saturday to clinch the No. 11 seed, while Georgia clinched the final seed when it beat Kentucky 11-10.

With both of those teams winning, it eliminated Auburn from the postseason.
